Betty Allison

TOHATCHI — Funeral Mass for Betty Jane Allison, 74, will be 11 a.m., Monday, May 16, at St. Mary’s Church, Tohatchi. The Rev. Robert Ross, CJ, will officiate. Burial will be on family land, El Paso Natural Gas Plant, 8 miles north east of Tohatchi. Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 a.m., May 16, at St. Mary’s Church. A rosary will be recited at St.Mary’s Church, 6 p.m., Sunday, May 15.

Allison died Thursday, May 12, 2011, in Gallup. She was born May 14, 1936, in Blue Canyon.
Allison graduated from Gallup High in 1959. She was employed by the Indian Health Service for 32 years. She was a happy homemaker and loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Her favorite TV show was Family Feud.

Survivors include her husband, Edward Allison of Tohatchi; sons, Edwin, Elmer, Eriwin, Eldred, Earlando Allison, all of Tohatchi; daughters, Barbara Carlston of Albuquerque, Edwina Allison, Eugenia Allison, Elaine Allison, all of Tohatchi; brother, Peter Yazzie of Fort Defiance; sisters, Mary Robbins of Fort Defiance, Lilliah Malone of Mexican Springs; 18 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Allison was preceded in death by her parents, John and Onebah Watchman.

Pallbearers will be Tarrell Allison, Lyle Allison, Darnell Dale, Steve Thomas, Mencia Jesus, Robert Olvera.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Tohatchi Chapter House, following services.

WINDOW ROCK — Funeral services are pending for Leona Mae John, 32.

John died May 12, 2011, in Albuquerque. She was born Dec. 15, 1978, in Fort Defiance.

Family will meet relatives and friends 5 p.m., May 14 and May 15, at family home, NHA Hillcrest Drive #11, Window Rock.

Wyatt Phillips

FORT DEFIANCE — Graveside services for Wyatt Reeves Phillips, 23, will be 10 a.m., Monday, May 16, at Fort Defiance Veterans Cemetery. Gilbert Schneider, OFM, will officiate. Visitation will be 6 p.m., Sunday, May 15, at Silver Creek Mortuary. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m., May 15, at Silver Creek Mortuary.

Phillips died May 10, 2011, in Fort Defiance. He was born Aug. 5, 1987, in Chinle, into the Deer Springs People Clan for the Charcoal Streaking Running Into the Water People Clan.
Survivors include his mother, Aleta Phillips; brother, Wacey Phillips of Fort Defiance; sister, Clarissa Sue Phillips of Fort Defiance.

Phillips was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Phillips; brother, Donovan L. Begay; grandparents, Peggy and Pete Phillips.
Pallbearers will be Geno Antonio, Forrest Lowley, Orlando Antonio, Aaron Nez, Craig Nelson, Nelvin Hoskie.

The family will meet at Fort Defiance Chapter House, following services.

Alayna Tullie-O’Rilley

CHINLE — Graveside services for Alayna Una-Jay Tullie-O’Rilley, 6 weeks old, were 10 a.m., today, May 14, at Chinle Community Cemetery. The Rev. Blaine will officiate. Burial will be in Chinle Community. Visitation will be 9-10 a.m., at the cemetery.

Tullie-O’Rilley was born March 24, 2011, in Chinle, into the Coyote Pass People Clan for the One That Walks Around Towering House People Clan.

Tullie-O’Rilley was a very smart baby girl who loved to smile, learn how to sit on her own and loved being around people. She enjoyed listening to classical music and sounds. She loved life and always being with her mother.

Survivors include her parents, Tanya Tullie and Shayne O’Rilley; grandmother, Hazel RedBird.
Pallbearer will be Nolando Tullie.

Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
